The first pair was purchased from a local store. Same boot, same color, same size. Perfect fit. This pair purchased from Sierra is ONE INCH shorter. I anticipate a full refund. Customer service was very nice. Somehow this boot was mislabeled??? Hope they are not knockoffs as I love ordering from Sierra and would hate to think quality is an issue.

Bad design on this boot.Verified Buyer Reviewed by DJ the baker from New Hampshire on Monday, December 10, 2018I was amazed at the lack of proper boot design on this model from Royal Canadian. The fleece top stops behind the zipper on the inside and looks strange. The fit was baggy on the inner calf side of the boot making it look like you had very swollen feet, very weird. There is a strange seam in the inner calf area that doesn't belong there and I haven't ever seen one in any boot or shoe before. The amount of leather in the tongue is twice as much as needed therefore bunches up under the laces and there is no way to straighten it out and it rubs against the top of the ankle. One of the inner soles was sewn incorrectly and had the seam going across the bottom of my heel which was very uncomfortable. The boots run very wide and big as well. I do not recommend this boot at all.

I would say they run at least a size larger- but I know some would prefer this in order to wear a thicker sock-- not sure you'd need a super thick sock, as these will be warm regardless. I originally ordered an 8.5. They were just too big- even with a decent wool sock. Exchanged those for an 8. Better, but still roomy. They are super comfy, though- the footbed is awesome and overall quality seems good. HOWEVER, while tightening the laces, one of the little metal loops broke off (so maybe not so good!)... so these will be going back, too!

Ordinarily would have ordered a 1/2 size up in a winter boot (tight boots=cold feet) but didn't because of the reviews here. We found that these boots fit true to size. Even so, we won't be exchanging them. After wearing them around the house with a heavy pair of socks for several hours, my daughter found the boots so comfortable that she didn't want to go through the rigmarole and wait involved in exchanging for a slightly larger size. Since they're leather, I expected them to stretch and I'm not concerned that her feet won't be warm. I tried the boots on as well. We share a shoe size but my feet are wider. Were I to order this boot for myself, I would definitely order a 1/2 size up. I found the boots tight in the heel. Overall, these are excellent boots at a very good price. My daughter particularly likes the memory foam insole.

The boot runs large and I ordered the size 9 and I think the 8.5 would be a better fit. When I went to exchange, they were sold out of the size and color I wanted. I am sad, this boot was so comfortable and beautiful. I will see if more come in stock and return this pair for now.

I wear a size 8 1/2, which is what I ordered, and the boots fit perfectly. I don't think I'll be able to wear them with super-thick winter socks, but since the boots are already nicely insulated, I probably won't need to. They are a quality pair of boots at a great price.
